Handstand Workshop – Foundations & Flow (Beginner & Intermediate)

In this three-hour workshop, we’ll playfully practice how to build up a solid basis for a strong handstand and how to include balancing on your hands into your own movement practice. We’ll work on all individual levels – so from “I’m afraid of falling” to “I can hold a handstand”, everyone is welcome.

Balancing on your hands is not just an anatomical phenomenon to explore, it’s more a mindfulness practice. A handstand, and especially the learning process of balancing on your hands, asks you to be fully present. My approach to this can be broken down into three layers:

Play to wake up your whole system. To strengthen the body and sharpen the mind.

Explore the variety of movements in your body related to the ground you’re practicing on. Explore the techniques and focus on a solid foundation.

Sense your mind and emotional body while doing so.

It’s not about mastering a two-minute handstand after this workshop. I rather want to guide you into your own confident handstand practice, give you new tools and help you to understand your body upside-down a bit better.

Movement Play – The Workshop

Three hours to explore your body in motion, to feel the fluidity of your spine and you joints. We start waking and warming up the body with some movement games and incorporate the qualities later on into some floorwork and acrobatic movements.

This workshop is the extended version of my Movement Play class on Mondays at Flow Motion Studio – an evening full of smiles and ease. Click here for some insights to this practice.

In the workshop you’ll have time and space to explore your body in motion, its possibilities to move, and your own strength. There will be movement games, open research, as well as elements from yoga and meditation to help you incorporating the practice. We’ll work on rolling and some acrobatic elements. My approach to practice can be broken down into three layers:

Play to wake up your whole system. To strengthen the body and sharpen the mind.

Explore the variety of movements in your body related to the ground you’re practicing on. Explore the techniques and focus on quality in your practice.

Sense your state of mind and emotional body while doing so.

Move with fluidity and joy in your practice. I want to guide you into your own movement practice, give you new tools and help you to understand your body in motion a bit better.

For both workshops:

We’ll start at 11 a.m. Arrival is from 10:40 a.m.
