Handstands

In this class we’ll work on strength and mobility especially for handstands. Katharina’s approach to that is playful and includes some partner exercises. It can be broken down into three layers:

  • Play to wake up your whole system, strengthen the body and sharpen the mind.
  • Explore the variety of movements in your body related to the ground you’re practicing on. Explore the techniques and focus on a solid foundation.
  • Sense your mind and emotional body while doing so.

Balancing on your hands is not just an anatomical phenomenon to explore, it’s more a mindfulness practice. A handstand, and especially the learning process of balancing on your hands, asks you to be fully present.

Movement Play

When we play, we are fully in the present moment, in the zone. We learn, we adapt, we try, we understand, we feel. We experience the flow.

This class will be about exploring your body, its possibilities to move and your own strength – without even knowing that you are exercising. There will be movement games, open research, music and silence, as well as elements from vinyasa yoga. We’ll start with more isolated movements around one topic and create a flow in the end. To finish you’ll get time in stillness to sense your movement practice.

Strength and Stretch

During the class, we will flow through different poses and stretches to prolong and activate the whole body. The aim is to leave the class feeling energized, grounded and connected with body and mind. Everyone is welcome!

Thursdays from 10 am to 11 am with Marcelina.
